UU Kids have fun all summer long!

Our Faith Development program offers entertaining and educational programs
​for kids of all ages during Sunday services throughout the summer.

Here's what we'll be doing this summer! 

June 9, 2019: Our young-uns’ will discover that they, too, can make a difference. They’ll be creating signs for our justice witness to carry during the June 16 Father’s Day Immigration Reform Rally at the Homestead Detention Center for migrant children.  

June 16, 2019: Forget buying a Father’s Day gift. Kids will craft a perfect and cool gift for dad or a loved one: a paracord bracelet! They’ll also have a special visit from Spanx, a certified therapy dog that’s a favorite guest.  
 
June 23, 2019: Mindfulness for kids. This popular meditation practice can help children of all ages deal with stress and practice kindness. Two trained Mindfulness teachers will run this workshop.  
 
June 30, 2019: Our young ones will explore the harmful effects of mining and how it hurts our communities by creating their own eco-friendly mining systems. Sounds serious but they’ll have a blast during this creative workshop.  
 
July 7, 2019: Kids rock on with rock painting! They will decorate small stones with pretty designs or inspirational sayings. They then can keep their creations or leave them for others to find, spreading art and kindness.  

July 14, 2019: Children will be jammin’ with a rhythm rock-out led by a music therapist. Our young ones will learn that we all can make a joyful noise – and that’s good for our bodies and souls. 
 
July 21, 2019: Do your kiddos love animals? They can sculpt their favorite critters in clay during this hands-on session. They’ll learn how we all can protect earth’s creatures – and have a new animal friend to take home when its done.  
 
July 28, 2019: Science is super, not scary! One of our resident science geeks will guide our youngsters through a project guaranteed to be as entertaining as it is educational. 
 
August 4, 2019: Our children will make their own tea party-- in the tradition of Hobbits and the Lord of the Rings. We will make an Elevenses feast worthy of the Shire. 

​August 11, 2019: Learn about how replanting trees can help prevent global warming. And we will create our own trees.

August 18, 2019: Celebrate back-to-school time! Our kids will be making Dream Catchers and adding medallions with words that encourage how special each one is. .

August 25, 2019: Dig out your mittens! Our young’uns will be going on a virtual trip to Alaska with two congregational travel pros who just returned from the Frozen North. This will be the last Sunday this year for our Faith Development summer program, which offers  entertaining and educational programming for kids of all ages during Sunday service.
