FUTURE HOME TEAM
Objective and Strategy
Our Objective as stated by our Board in June, 2020, is:
“The Future Home Search Team shall objectively identify and evaluate future home options that best meet the needs and wants of River of Grass, for presentation to the board and possibly to the congregation.”
The board empowers the team to engage in communications with property owners and their representatives or agents and utilizing River of Grass’ Real Estate Agent Pam Kelner, on the team’s behalf.
Our strategy over the last 2 years has involved the following:
- We have looked at potential properties for River of Grass: Steve and others scan LoopNet.com weekly for new listings and Team members report on properties for sale that they see in the target area.
- We have focused on properties with about 1.3 acres of land in order to include adequate parking.
- We continued to pursue possible joint ventures with other religious organizations.
- Pam Kelner, a River of Grass member, is our Realtor and Commercial Realtor Rosy Cancella is partnering with her. Ms. Cancella brings her extensive commercial real estate experience to the team.
The team has visited and evaluated at least 10 properties in depth.
We observed that prices have increased dramatically over the past two years. Current prices for land are over $1 million per acre on a major thoroughfare.
